Meet Our Principal Dentist
Dr. Sanjeev Baniwal has two Master`s Degrees in dentistry. He believes in learning, every day. He completed his second Masters in 2023 from Griffith Dental School after he felt the need in his patients for dental implants. He also has a fellow ship from the Royal college of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow. He graduated from Mysore in India in 1996 and then finished his first Masters in the year 2000, in the speciality of oral and maxillofacial surgery. He was involved in undergraduate and post graduate training of dental students in India, Nepal, and Libya before he moved to Australia. He is passionate about dental education and is currently involved in mentoring young dentists through the ADA mentoring programme.
He is passionate about achieving good oral health for his patients. After practicing dentistry for thirty years, he has developed skills, and knowledge to deal with a wide range of complex dental conditions. He tries to treat the patient, not just the tooth or teeth. He believes that to achieve optimum health, it takes more than an individual. It requires a shift in attitudes of individuals, families, and communities. Help from the government, also goes a long way.
Having worked in different parts of Australia and the world, and in the private sector and the public sector he has developed an ability to connect with most people. He tries to use this connection to better his patient’s health. In the last ten years of practicing in Logan Dr Sanjeev has seen school children graduate and go to university, patients get married and bring their children to him. Unfortunately, he has also lost some patients to cancer and feels fortunate to continue to care for their families.
These connections with the community, motivate him to show up and work harder. He is an active member of the Australian dental association and uses his voice to make the provision of dental care more equitable and accessible to some of his most disadvantaged clients.
In his free time, he likes to go on hikes, run, and swim. He completed the gold coast marathon in 2022 and dreams of doing an Iron man, someday.
