Child Dental Benefit Schedule – CDBS
In order to improve children with their dental health, the Australian government brought in place the Child Dental Benefit Schedule also known as CDBS.
What is
CDBS
Our team at Brite Dental Group, Browns Plains, loves to treat children, we believe that early intervention can prevent adult dental disease. The federal government brought in place the Child Dental Benefit Schedule, to help us treat children.
What Child Dental Benefit Schedule means to your child
In the first place, the CDBS is a government initiative to improve dental health of children between the ages of 2 and 17. Consequently, under the scheme, all eligible children are provided with $1,000 worth of free treatment.
Besides that, you can use over a two calendar year period on a range of dental services including examinations, routine cleaning, fillings, and root canals.
What CDBS doesn’t cover?
CDBS does not cover orthodontic, cosmetic dental procedures (the restoration or replacement of damaged or missing teeth). Most importantly, we work under this initiative, so call our friendly staff to enquire if your child is eligible.
Your child’s eligibility
Your child is deemed eligible for the CDBS by Medicare, who administers the program, if:
- they’re within the applicable age range for at least some of that year
- they qualify for Medicare;
- and also you receive either Family Tax Benefit Part A, Parenting payment or Double Orphan Pension payments for at least some of that year.
